Sad Social Commentary
Today, I caught this lemon trying to be a lime. How sad, I thought. Isn't he comfortable in his own skin? Why are we always trying to be something we're not? Does he honestly think life will somehow magically be better once he looks like a lime? I mean, on the inside he'll always be a lemon, and he should celebrate that! I just thought it was important to put this out there, and maybe try to raise awareness of this increasing problem. If I can save one fruit from a life of insecurity and self-loathing, it will have been worth it.

What a nice surprise when I connected it to the mother of all my techno-gadgets, my 17" MacBook Pro, and found this video I took of the Barcelona marathon. It ran right past our hotel, and we watched it for a while. Kind of weird recording something as primitive as a footrace on one of my many techno-gadgets...

Hopped Up on Hibiscus
Our dog's drug of choice is the Hibiscus flower, or "reds" as she calls them. That damn Great Dane down the street gave her the first one for free and now she's hooked on the things. She says she can stop any time, but we know better. We're planning an intervention shortly, but I'm sorry to say I'm not really hopeful...
I Used to Love the Rain...
There was a time, not too long ago in fact, that the sound of a driving rain on the roof was a soothing and beautiful one to me. All that changed a couple of years ago when our basement flooded and we lost so many things; some, as a MasterCard commercial might say, priceless. This photo, for example. I came across it today as I was cleaning my desk...
